Have you been praying for a situation in your life and found yourself waiting for a breakthrough? Are you wondering why the answer hasn’t come yet? Do you feel as though victory is passing you by? You look around the people around you and see them receiving all the good things you are praying for and you keep wondering when God, what about me? It is frustrating not knowing when God will show up in our situation actually.
Joseph , waited many years for the fulfillment of the dream God had given him. He was falsely accused and imprisoned before the time came for him to do what God had shown him he was to do. Exodus 13:17-18 tells us that God led the Israelites the longer, harder way on their journey to the Promised Land because he knew they were not yet ready to go in. There had to be time for their training, and they had to go through some very trying situations. They wasted a lot of time wondering about God’s timing, but God never failed to take care of them and showed them what He wanted them to do. The same is true in our lives. God’s training period simply requires us to do what He tells us to do when He tells us to do it…without questioning or trying to figure everything out.
Proverbs 16:9 says, A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. Proverbs 20:24 says, The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way? When God directs our paths, He sometimes leads us in ways that don’t make sense to us so we’re not always going to understand everything. If we try to reason out everything, we will experience struggle, confusion and misery—but there is a better way. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.. This sounds so simple, yet too many people make the mistake of trying to figure everything out themselves.
Waiting is key to every believer because if you try to push it or move everything to work in your way; you might end up getting yourself into trouble.
“Every good and perfect gift is from the above ,coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17”
Most of us are waiting on the promises of God ; waiting to receive a life changing job; waiting for a financial breakthrough; waiting for a husband from God or waiting for any life changing blessings. The truth remains; waiting is never easy but we need to keep believing that he who began a good work in us will complete it.
To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven…Ecclesiastes 3 vs 1-8. Before our time comes, we are tried and tested and that walk is not easy but takes everything you have until God says you are ready and then he will provide what it is you need.
It takes a lot out of you to pray, fast and wait and still see nothing changing but always remember not to give up. Our walk with our Father is not just for things or to ask for waht we want. We should work on our purpose, the reason we are here on earth. If you havent figured it out, that can be the reason why whatever you think you need is not coming through. The process is necessary to get us to where we are doing God’s work.
It is a life of surrendering everything to God. I encourage you to keep your eye on the mark of the high calling, keep your eyes on the Father. He has the final say and work on finding your purpose. Your purpose is actually more fulfilling than what you think you need for your life. The solution is to find your purpose and once you do then you will realise that whatever you though you needed was actually not that important. You become fulfilled and your life becomes calibrated. Do not give up. Keep pressing. Focus on the Lord.
